Wound Care Medical Clinic
Thanks to an incredible volunteer team and the support of partners like Humanity Showers and The Lucky Duck Foundation, we’re bringing healing and hope to the unsheltered—completely free of charge. Watch our story, filmed by Jordan Verdin, and see how God’s love in action changes lives!
Our Story
I think it was late 2019, before Covid hit. A friend—now a board member—joined me for some basic street ministry. (He’s a doctor, but unfortunately not one you’d have seen on TV last night!) Back then, we were just walking around, handing out peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, praying with people, and trying to build relationships. Convicted4Christ Ministries didn’t even exist yet.
What stood out to us during those early encounters was the overwhelming need for wound care and treating infections among our homeless friends. I kept asking myself, What would Jesus do? His ministry was about seeing a need, feeling compassion, and acting on it. We saw the need and felt compassion—now, we needed to act.
We started praying—praying hard. Over time, Convicted4Christ came to life, and God began placing the right people around us. As we continued creating encounters, an idea emerged: Street Medicine. Instead of a million-dollar mobile unit, we could focus on wound care and test for diabetes—two critical needs we saw often.
Through God’s provision, we were given a location to work from, thanks to our friend Jordan at Humanity Showers (we love you, Jordan!). God also brought together an amazing team: a doctor, a PA, nurses with wound care experience, and even a retired nurse who’s an expert at organizing clinics. Oh, and there’s me—proof that God calls and qualifies the unqualified. Truthfully, I’m still figuring out my role, but I’m certain I’m favored and anointed. That’s the only way to explain what’s happening.
Here’s the exciting news: The Lucky Duck Foundation has stepped in to support our vision. In September, we launched our very own Wound Care Medical Unit in Oceanside to serve the unsheltered and less fortunate—completely volunteer-run and at no cost to other agencies. God’s hand is all over this, and we’re so excited to serve our community in this way!
